The Field Air Group in Mitchell Park, VIC, is offering an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice (B2 - Avionics) position starting 4 January 2027. This full-time apprenticeship provides hands-on maintenance experience across avionics systems, guided by qualified engineers and complemented by formal training to achieve the required qualifications.

Qualifications

• Aimed to commence Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship (B2 - Avionics).
• Strong literacy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics systems under supervision.
• Install, test and repair avionics equipment and components per manufacturer specs and regulatory requirements.
• Follow technical manuals, maintenance schedules and work instructions to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation for all work performed on aircraft systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving avionics faults reported by flight crews.
• Conduct routine servicing and component replacements as directed by senior maintenance engineers.
• Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and safety procedures at all times.
• Participate in on-the-job training and formal classroom instruction to achieve apprenticeship qualifications.
• Contribute to a collaborative maintenance team environment and support colleagues.
