Job summary

Morgan Mckinley is seeking an experienced Governance professional to lead AI governance initiatives within a state government department. The role centers on coordinating AI governance activities, risk and assurance, and reporting to executives.

Contract until December 2026, based in Parramatta. You will uplift governance artefacts, engage stakeholders and drive scalable AI adoption through robust governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Strong AI governance, risk and assurance capability.
• AI assessments experience in NSW Government.
• Understanding of AI lifecycle governance and control frameworks.
• Experience maintaining governance registers and tracking actions.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AI governance activities, assessments, registers and compliance.
• Progress audit, assurance and policy actions to closure with evidence.
• Coordinate governance forums and executive reporting.
• Engage stakeholders to resolve issues and support scalable AI adoption.
