Preacta Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager to lead AI governance, shaping how AI is adopted with strong controls and clear reporting to regulators, auditors, and the board. The role influences governance across technology, data, risk and business units in a collaborative, regulated financial services context.

A well-established, regulated financial services business with a growing AI function and a clear intention to use AI properly, not just quickly. They’re building out the guardrails now, so the role has real influence over how AI gets adopted, who signs off on what, and how the business shows regulators, auditors and its own board that it’s in control. Sydney based, with a collaborative culture and strong links between technology, data, risk and the business.
You’ll be the senior voice on AI governance, helping the business adopt AI responsibly without slowing it to a crawl. It’s a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports, so your impact comes from influence, judgement and clear communication.
The work splits into three areas. First, governance: you’ll own the roadmap, keep the AI standard current, run independent reviews of AI use cases, maintain the register of AI assets, and shape the wider control framework. That includes input on vendor risk tiering and due diligence for AI products and services.
Second, advisory: you’ll get involved early, when teams are experimenting and planning proofs of concept, and help separate low-risk exploration from controlled delivery. You’ll build understanding across the business of what good AI controls look like, including the cost side of running AI at scale.
Third, reporting and insight: you’ll turn AI risk into clear papers for risk committees, executives and the board. That means tracking incidents, issues, exceptions and remediation, keeping evidence ready for audit and regulators, and maintaining an enterprise view of AI usage and spend.
You’ll work daily with the AI, data and analytics teams, cyber and technology risk, operational risk, compliance, legal and procurement.
