Job summary

PSS Ag is a specialist agricultural technology business based in Australia, seeking an Agricultural Technician to join our team. This hands-on role supports our Agronomist and works with precision agriculture technology including Precision Planting and Trimble.

You will install, test, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, provide training, and offer remote and on-farm support across farms and client sites in Victoria. The position requires travel and a practical, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Diploma or relevant technical qualification in agriculture or related field.
• Experience with agricultural machinery and technology preferred.
• Willingness to travel to farms and customer locations.
• Current driver’s license required.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and solutions to Sales Agronomists and service teams.
• Liaise with farmers to understand planting and equipment needs.
• Analyse existing technology to identify upgrades.
• Install and commission precision agriculture technology (Precision Planting, Trimble, GPS/GNSS, displays).
• Test, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Deliver technical training to customers.
• Provide remote and on-farm technical support.
• Support customers with system modifications and optimisation.

PSS Ag is a specialist agricultural technology business helping farmers and contractors get more from their planting, seeding and precision agriculture equipment.

We are looking for an Agricultural Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on technical role, supporting our Agronomist team and working with some of the industry's leading precision agriculture technology, including Precision Planting and Trimble.

About the Role

Working across our workshop, customer farms and field environments, you will be involved in:

Supporting the PSS Ag Sales Agronomists and service teams to provide technical advice and solutions.

Liaising with farmers to understand their planting and equipment needs, offering tailored solutions

Analysing existing agricultural technology and machinery to identify modifications, upgrades, or additional equipment to increase crop viability and yields

Installing and commissioning precision agriculture technology, systems including Precision Planting, Trimble guidance, GPS/GNSS, and displays.

Testing, calibrating and troubleshooting agricultural technology and machinery.

Delivering technical training to customers, ensuring correct usage of equipment to obtain desired outcomes

Providing ongoing remote and on-farm technical support.

Supporting customers with system modifications, optimisation, and operational issues.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Technically minded, with experience working with agricultural machinery and technology.

Willing to travel to farms and customer locations as required.

Confident working with customers and explaining technical information.

Practical, organised and keen to learn.

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Holds a current driver's licence.

A Diploma or relevant technical qualification in agriculture, agricultural technology, agronomy, or a related field is desirable.

Experience with precision agricultural technology is an advantage, but not essential. Full product and manufacturer training will be provided.
