Job summary

Anglicare NT in Alice Springs is seeking an Aged Care Support Worker to provide practical, person-centred support to older people in their homes and community, helping them stay independent and maintain quality of life.

You will assist with domestic tasks, personal care and transport to appointments, work as part of a team, and meet eligibility criteria including Certificate III in Individual Support. A reliable vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) required.
• Experience delivering personal care, domestic assistance or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic computer skills and a commitment to culturally safe practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic assistance, personal care and social support in clients' homes.
• Assist clients to attend appointments, shopping and community activities.
• Build professional relationships with clients, families and carers.
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and service documentation.

About the Opportunity

As an Aged Care Support Worker, you’ll provide practical, person-centred support to older people in Alice Springs, helping them maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life within their home and community

You will:

• Provide domestic assistance, personal care and social support to older people in their homes.
• Support clients to attend appointments, go shopping and participate in community activities.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
