Job summary

Life Without Barriers in Brisbane is seeking an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to provide personalised home care for older Australians in Brisbane.

You will travel between clients’ homes in Balmoral, Moorooka, Holland Parl, Mount Gravett, Aspley and Middle Park, supporting multiple people each day, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01c per KM travelled while you are working).

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar.
• Must have Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• First Aid and CPR certification (to be obtained prior to employment).

Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light house cleaning and meal preparation.
• Personal care including showering and daily hygiene; monitoring health and wellbeing.
• Community access to medical appointments and social activities.
• Provide support with daily tasks and routines; build relationships with clients and families.
