Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a dedicated Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to provide personalised home care to older Australians in the Ballina area. You will travel between multiple client homes across Ballina and surrounding suburbs, with travel reimbursed at $1.01 per kilometre while you work.

We offer permanent part-time and casual opportunities with daytime shifts across the week; there are no weekend or sleepover shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or Ageing Support required.
• Australian Driver's Licence with a reliable vehicle preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Experience caring for older people and dementia is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Domestic duties: vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing.
• Personal care including showering and daily hygiene.
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments and social activities.
• Assist with daily tasks and routines including meal preparation.
• Foster positive relationships with clients and their families.
