Job summary
Life Without Barriers is hiring an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to provide personalised in-home care to older Australians across Ballina and surrounding areas. You will travel between client homes (Byron Bay to Casino) with travel reimbursed at $1.01 per km and support daily tasks, personal care, and community access.
Roles include permanent part-time and casual shifts, with daytime hours and no sleepovers.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aging/Ageing Care (or equivalent)
- Experience with dementia is desirable but not required
- Australian driver’s licence with reliable vehicle
- Strong communication skills for building relationships
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Pre-employment checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Aged Care Statutory Declaration
Responsibilities
- Vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing
- Personal care including showering, daily hygiene, health monitoring
- Transporting clients to medical appointments and social activities
- Assist with daily tasks and routines including meal preparation
- Foster positive relationships with clients and their families
