Job summary

Mark Moran Group in Sydney is seeking a Full-Time Cook to join a creative kitchen led by the Head Chef. The role focuses on nutritious, well-balanced meals and adherence to aged care kitchen protocols, with an open kitchen and interactive dining for residents.

You will prepare meals, cater for specialised diets, manage stock and assist with menu planning, while maintaining food safety and quality. Salary AUD 80,000–AUD 85,000 plus super; full-time 38 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Cert III/IV related qualification.
• Experience in high-volume cooked environments (aged care, hospital, school or large-scale catering) – minimum 3 years.
• Understanding of modified diets and nutrition for older adults (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in line with approved menus and dietary guidelines.
• Cater for specialised diets (e.g., soft foods, diabetic, low-sodium, allergy-aware meals).
• Ensure meals are nutritious, appealing and appropriate for residents’ needs.
• Assist with menu planning.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor food temperatures, storage and handling procedures.
• Manage stock rotation, ordering and minimise food waste.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, carers and management.
• Assist with meal service and presentation where required.
