Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a dedicated Cook to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for aged care residents. This casual role offers flexibility with base pay, super, and casual loading.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery, bring experience in healthcare settings, and be skilled in texture-modified menus and safe kitchen practices. This is a supportive team environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chef with a Certificate III in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, or equivalent.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare settings highly regarded.
• Familiarity with cook-fresh and cook-chill methodologies.
• Strong understanding of dietary controls and texture-modified food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified options.
• Plan and rotate menus in consultation with the Service Manager and residents.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
• Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines.
• Foster a safe and respectful kitchen environment, adhering to Safe Work Practices.
