Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Cook to support the delivery of high-quality, resident-centred dining at Rothwell Aged Care Facility. The role reports to the Home Services Lead and collaborates with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, safe and meet dietary needs and resident preferences.

The Cook will maintain a clean, safe and efficient kitchen, follow procedures and contribute to positive interactions with residents, families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and safe handling.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and special diets.
• Ability to work in a team and follow direction.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to resident-centred dining experiences.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare food service (highly regarded).
• Willingness to undergo probity checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs.
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations.
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records.
