Job summary

BlueCare Kirra Haven Aged Care Facility is seeking a Part-time Cook to deliver high-quality, resident-centred dining. The role works with the Home Services Lead and Chef to ensure meals meet dietary needs and resident preferences, while maintaining safety and presentation standards.

You will handle food preparation, meal service, and documentation, with shifts starting as early as 6am and potential weekend work. First Nations and diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Food safety knowledge and safe food handling practices.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and special diets.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare food service is highly regarded.
• Willingness to satisfy probity checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen and cultural and texture-modified needs.
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations.
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records.
