Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Cook at the Bli Bli Aged Care Facility to prepare and present meals that meet dietary requirements and resident preferences. You will work under the Home Services Lead with the Chef to ensure a safe, enjoyable dining experience that supports resident dignity.

The role involves maintaining a clean kitchen, following procedures, and documenting temperature checks, logs, and production records while delivering high-quality service to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience).
• Food safety knowledge and safe handling practices.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and dietary requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals meet IDDSI, allergen and texture-modified needs.
• Deliver meals that are well-presented and at the correct temperature.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations.
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Complete documentation including temperature checks and production records.
• Identify and report hazards or faults.
