Job summary

Rei Fong Pty Ltd (St James Terrace) is seeking an experienced Chef to prepare nutritious meals for elderly clients and those with disabilities. The role requires planning, cooking, and supervising kitchen operations to ensure quality and compliance with health standards.

You will design menus, manage costs, and coordinate with management to meet dietary and cultural requirements, while prioritising safety, hygiene, and efficient service in a full-time setting at Box Hill, VIC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef.
• AQF Diploma or higher in Commercial Cookery or related field.
• Experience in aged care, disability support, healthcare or community care settings is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for elderly clients and people with disabilities.
• Design menus and estimate food and labour costs in consultation with management.
• Cook a variety of meals meeting dietary, cultural and nutritional requirements.
• Monitor dish quality from prep to presentation.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and compliance with policies.
• Manage kitchen stock, ordering and receiving supplies.
• Maintain clean and organised kitchen workspace and equipment.
• Record food prep, temperatures, storage and hygiene practices.
