Job summary

Kirinari Community Services invites applications for an Aged and Home Care Worker in Canberra. The role supports clients with in-home care services to maintain independence and well-being in their own homes.

A typical day includes domestic assistance, shopping support, meal prep and social engagement, with shifts Monday to Friday 9am–5pm. Applicants should have a Certificate III in Health-related industry and be able to obtain necessary checks; a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Availability for shifts across Monday to Friday 9am–5pm.
• Ability to connect and build meaningful relationships with clients.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification if not already held.
• Must be able to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to commencement.
• Full driver's license and appropriate car insurance or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic assistance and support with shopping and appointments.
• Assist with meal preparation and daily living tasks.
• Support clients with social activities and community engagement.
• Travel between clients in a local area with paid travel time where possible.

About the Position

Our Kirinari Healthy Ageing services deliver quality in-home care supporting our customers to maintain well-being and independence in their own surroundings for as long as possible.

A typical day assisting our customers to live their best lives may include:

• Domestic assistance
• Assisted shopping/client appointments
• Meal preparation
• Social support and community engagement

Shifts will vary in duration with paid travel time between customers in a localised area, where possible. (km’s travelled between customers also claimable)

About You:

• Available for shifts across Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm
• Studying or completed a minimum Certificate III in a health-related industry (Individual Support, Aged Care, Nursing etc.)
• Qualification in First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain
• Willingness to get physical and help with domestic work – Mopping, vacuuming, washing, general cleaning
• Genuine desire and ability to connect and develop a meaningful relationship
• Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
• Current Driver's License
• Full Comprehensive Car Insurance, or willing to obtain
