Job summary

Mater Bundaberg is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to advance into an After-Hours Manager role. This permanent part-time position covers evening shifts with flexibility across all shifts, providing clinical and operational leadership outside business hours.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate patient flow and staffing, ensure high-quality patient care, and support continuous improvement in a 59-bed private hospital with a busy perioperative department.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration in the relevant scope of practice.
• Minimum five years of clinical experience in a critical care environment.
• ALS and PLS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of facility requirements and standards.
• Prior leadership/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• Postgraduate qualification in nursing Critical Care (ICU/CCU/ED).
• Demonstrated analytical and report-writing skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, HR and business skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance and clinical support to multidisciplinary teams after hours.
• Coordinate patient flow, bed management and staffing resources.
• Mentor nursing staff and promote professional development.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, legislation and hospital policies.
• Respond to clinical and operational issues, identify risks and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, visiting medical officers and allied health teams.
