Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a values-driven AOD After Hours Support Worker to provide after-hours support for residents of the Bridge Program in New Town, Tasmania. This casual position reports to the Program Supervisor and aligns with SCHADS Award Level 3.

You will assess client issues, provide welcoming initial contact, address urgent needs, maintain the centre to a high standard, and build supportive relationships to empower self-determination and positive change.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in AOD or Mental Health (or related field) is required.
• Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Check is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate is required.
• Tasmanian Driver Licence is required.
• Ability to respond to the needs of individuals experiencing AOD issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours support for residents of the Bridge Program.
• Assess client issues, needs and circumstances; develop strategies to address needs.
• Provide welcoming, responsive initial contact and address urgent needs.
• Maintain a clean and tidy centre.
• Establish relationships that encourage self-determination and participation and support improvements.
