Job summary

The AFL is seeking a Schools Participation Coordinator to grow Australian Rules football across Greater Sydney. Based in Sydney, you will deliver engaging AFL programmes in schools and community settings, support local clubs and participation centres, and help more people connect with the game.

Through high-quality programme delivery, promotion and stakeholder engagement, you will contribute to participation growth across Community Football, NAB AFL Auskick, NAB Superkick, School Competitions

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to engage confidently with schools, teachers, volunteers and community stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and administrative capability with close attention to detail.
• The initiative and judgement to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• A process-focused approach that supports consistent and reliable programme delivery.
• The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AFL programmes in schools and after-school settings, including curriculum-linked activities, School Competitions, Auskick, Superkick, AFL NINES and all-abilities programmes.
• Support junior clubs and Auskick and Superkick centres with participant recruitment, volunteers, coaching, protocols, promotion and venue hire.
• Drive programme bookings and contribute to participation growth across Greater Sydney.
• Deliver programmes in line with the relevant curriculum and create safe, friendly and enjoyable experiences for every participant.
• Conduct school assemblies and other promotional activities that encourage children and young people to get involved.
• Build productive relationships with teachers, schools and other programme stakeholders.
• Coordinate AFL player visits and fan engagement activities.
• Complete programme administration accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to shared priorities and the success of the broader team.
