Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking an Aerospace Hardware Development Engineer to design, analyze, build, and test hardware assemblies for satellite applications. You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams across ground and space systems, driving hardware development from concept through qualification.

The role requires close cooperation with radiation, power, mechanical, thermal, RF, and software teams, delivering flight-qualified hardware and supporting new satellite generations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in hardware design and test plan development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate hardware components and assemblies for satellite hardware.
• Develop closed-loop control algorithms with sensors and microcontrollers.
• Implement hardware design strategies to mitigate risks to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with avionics, payload, radiation, power, mechanical, RF, and software teams for requirements and integration.
• Work with manufacturing, software, tooling, and ground support to deliver flight-qualified hardware.
• Communicate hardware design risks and mitigation plans across teams.
• Enable data-driven insights via automated test execution and analysis pipelines, including Python scripts.
• Hands-on work with hardware test equipment.
• Define and execute software release processes, CI/CD, and quality verification.
• Deliver documentation and user-focused software for engineering and manufacturing teams.
