Job summary

Service Stream is seeking an Aerodrome Reporting Officer to support the RAAF Tindal base in the Northern Territory. You will conduct inspections, maintain airbase documentation, manage NOTAMs and airfield data, and ensure compliance with CASA and Defence protocols.

The role requires current ARO and WSO certifications, ASIC, and an airfield operations background. Training is available and Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain Defence clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role or relevant aviation certification.
• Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) is preferred.
• Current Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) certification is required.
• Current Aerodrome Works Safety Officer (WSO) certification is required.
• Valid ASIC required.
• AROC qualification beneficial for airport radio comms.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong problem-solving and corrective-action skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and maintain reporting/documentation for airbase operability and certification.
• Manage aerodrome data updates, aircraft manifests, NOTAMs, and plans per CASA/Defence protocols.
• Draft and monitor NOTAMs to ensure safety/compliance.
• Maintain FOD register and AO safety SOPs.
• Coordinate AO maintenance and liaise with BST providers.
• Support audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and report outcomes to Aerodrome Operators.
• Perform general airside duties as required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting inspections and maintaining reporting and documentation to support airbase operability and certification.
• Managing Aerodrome data updates, aircraft manifests, NOTAMs, and OLS impacts, CASA, and Defence protocols.
• Drafting and monitoring NOTAMs to meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintaining FOD register.
• Completing dangerous cargo documentation and ensure SOPs are current for AO safety and compliance.
• Coordinating AO maintenance and liaising with BST providers for safe operations.
• Supporting internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigating incidents and security breaches, reporting outcomes to Aerodrome Operators.
• Performing sweeping and mowing duties across airside operational zones.
• Conducting hazard inspections and manage wildlife, environmental, and maintenance risks.
• Providing ground handling support including fuelling, marshalling, fireguard duties, and equipment operation.
• Baggage and aircraft loading assistance as required and in compliance with the relevant SOP.
• Managing of pedestrian and vehicle movements, including escorting duties.
• Supporting air terminal operations including customer service, passenger and aircrew support, operation of Defence screening equipment in accordance with the relevant SOP.

About you

• Prior experience in a similar role, or a Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations).
• Current certification as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) and Aerodrome Works Safety Officer (WSO).
• Valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate (AROC) for airport radio communications.
• Flexible, adaptable, and effective at prioritising tasks.
• Skilled in problem-solving and implementing corrective actions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
