Job summary

University of Canberra College (UCC) is seeking a detail-oriented Admissions and Recruitment Officer in Canberra on a casual basis. You will bridge prospective students, education agents, and our organisation, processing applications, assessing eligibility, and delivering high-quality customer service.

You will support student recruitment, marketing activities, events, and digital campaigns to enhance visibility in domestic and international markets while ensuring compliance with enrolment

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in local and international qualifications, education systems, credentials and regulatory requirements
  • Develop digital content and online web strategy toolkit, including marketing material and social media communications
  • Support web content quality control and management to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Adhere to partner university, Navitas brand guidelines and obtain approvals for marketing material
  • Coordinate with the Admissions and Recruitment Manager on lead conversion
  • Liaise with education agents and Navitas offices regarding applications, visas and enrolments
  • Coordinate information packs for applicants and resolve agent issues
  • Verify entry levels with University Partner and handle payments
  • Update and align student records with university partner systems
  • Contribute to admissions guidelines and policy improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agents, university partner and Navitas stakeholders
  • Participate in promotional activities

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused, and proactive Admissions and Recruitment Officer to join our dynamic team in Canberra, Australia, on a casual basis. In this role, you'll be the bridge between prospective students, education agents, and our organisation, ensuring a seamless and supportive admissions experience.

You will play a key role in processing applications, assessing student eligibility, and delivering high-quality customer service while navigating the complexities of international student recruitment and enrolment regulations. In addition, you will support a range of student recruitment, marketing, promotional, and social media activities, including assisting with events, generating engaging content, maintaining digital communication channels, and supporting campaigns that enhance the visibility and reputation of the College in domestic and international markets.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both student admissions and marketing initiatives, helping attract, engage, and convert prospective students while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in relation to local and international qualifications, education systems, institution credentials, credit precedents and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the development of college specific digital content and online web strategy toolkit, such as marketing material and content including social media marketing and communications
  • Provide support to the web page quality control and content management of UC College website to ensure consistency and accuracy of content, quality and focus
  • Ensure adherence to both the partner university, UC College and Navitas brand guidelines and gain relevant University approvals for all marketing material
  • Coordinate with the Admissions and Recruitment Manager with the Lead conversion process as appropriate
  • Liaise with education agents onshore and offshore and Navitas Source Country Offices regarding applications, visas, applicant information and enrolments such as:
    • Implement interaction via phone, email, sms etc.
    • Manage or respond to enquiries or applications from agents or direct applicants
    • Identify and allocate applicant enquiries to agents
    • Provide information packs to applicants
    • Facilitate resolution of issues raised by agents
    • Undertake Academic verification and confirm entry levels with University Partner as necessary
    • Facilitate payments
  • Update and maintain student records and contribute to alignment of systems/records with university partner
  • Contribute to refinement of admissions guidelines as established in policy and procedure
  • Develop and maintain strong, effective, and enduring partner relationships with agents, University partner and Navitas stakeholders
  • Participate in promotional activities as required
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated work experience OR significant work experience within the education industry or related area
  • An understanding of the Australian tertiary education system as well as knowledge of or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to domestic and international students
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with clients by phone, e-mail and in person
  • High level computer skills including an understanding of and experience in using various student management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing effective marketing activities from planning to implementation in a global environment
  • Experience of developing and managing social media networks
  • Experience and proven performance across various digital marketing channels, including lead automation
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively utilise various promotional media including print, audio-visual and web technologies to develop and implement successful marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of a high-quality client-focused service
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of tasks with competing priorities in an organized manner and within strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated written communication skills that enable the appointee to prepare basic written correspondence accurately and independently on a range of student admissions matters
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a productive member of a team
  • Experience in processing applications
  • Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures pertaining to administration and admission of undergraduate students, both local and international
