Job summary

Independent Review Office (IRO) is seeking an Administrative Accounts Assistant to provide financial and administrative support, ensuring accurate data and reliable records. The role sits in the Corporate and Enabling Services team, with transaction processing, reconciliations and service delivery improvements across finance functions.

The position is based in Darlinghurst NSW (hybrid), requiring office presence at least 5 days per fortnight for full-time roles.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing financial, accounts or administrative support in finance or corporate services.
  • Understanding of basic financial terminology, transaction processing, journals, reconciliations and AP/AR processes.
  • Ability to analyse accounts and data, identify discrepancies and support corrective actions.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and record keeping with financial systems.
  • Good communication and customer service to respond to stakeholder queries professionally.
  • Organise work, manage priorities and meet deadlines; proactive and collaborative.

Administrative Accounts Assistant Independent Review Office Clerk Grade: 3/4 Employment Type: Ongoing x1 Location: Darlinghurst NSW (hybrid). You'll be office-based at least 5 days per fortnight for full-time roles (pro-rata for part-time), with the remaining days worked flexibly as agreed.

The Independent Review Office (IRO) is seeking a motivated Administrative Accounts Assistant to provide financial and administrative support services that help ensure financial data is accurate, reliable and maintained to a high standard.

Working as part of the Corporate and Enabling Services team you will support transaction processing, reconciliations, records management, customer service and process improvement activities that enable effective finance operations and informed decision-making across IRO.

The Independent Review Office (IRO) is an independent statutory body in NSW that helps injured workers and motor vehicle accident claimants resolve disputes with insurers and provides legal funding to support claimants through the claims process.

What you'll do
  • Prepare journals, process transactions and complete reconciliations to support accurate capture of revenue and expenditure
  • Analyse accounts and financial data, identify issues and take corrective action to support accurate and consistent reporting
  • Provide financial administrative support to assist with the preparation, monitoring and delivery of finance services
  • Maintain records, databases and financial information in line with administrative systems, controls and organisational requirements
  • Collect and compile information and prepare documentation and correspondence to support information flow and decision-making
  • Provide customer service, guidance and practical support to staff, stakeholders and service providers to help resolve finance-related queries
  • Contribute to reviews of systems and processes and support initiatives that improve reconciliation processes, business systems and service delivery
  • Support the maintenance of policies, procedures and guidance materials that promote effective, efficient and compliant finance operations
What we're looking for

You will bring:

  • Experience providing financial, accounts or administrative support in a finance or corporate services environment
  • Sound understanding of basic financial terminology, transaction processing, journals, reconciliations and accounts payable or receivable processes
  • Ability to analyse accounts and data, identify discrepancies and support corrective action to maintain the quality and integrity of financial information
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and record keeping skills, with the ability to use financial systems and databases effectively
  • Good communication and customer service skills, including the ability to provide clear information and respond to stakeholder queries professionally
  • The ability to organise work, manage competing priorities and complete tasks within agreed timeframes and quality standardsA proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to process improvement, compliance and effective service delivery
