Job summary

Department of Customer Service (DCS) in NSW offers a Senior Service Controls Assurance Advisor role based in Parramatta with a hybrid work arrangement. The role strengthens the control environment across Government Shared Services by delivering assurance, analytics and audit readiness activities.

You will lead risk-based reviews, analyze data for trends and partner with stakeholders to deliver evidence-based recommendations. Ongoing development of assurance methods is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Experience in controls assurance, audit, risk or compliance within a complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience interpreting operational or financial data.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver practical, evidence-based outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including preparing reports and presenting recommendations.
  • Experience supporting audits, driving remediation and improving business processes.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for continuous improvement and good governance.

Responsibilities

Job description

Clerk Grade: 9/10

Salary Range: $133,348 - $146,945 plus superannuation and leave loading

Employment Type: Full-Time, Ongoing

Location: Parramatta - Hybrid opportunity. In-office requirement 2-3 days a week as a minimum, which could be subject to change based on applicable DCS workplace policies.

About the team

Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.

We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.

What you will do

As our Senior Service Controls Assurance Advisor, you'll strengthen the control environment across Government Shared Services by delivering assurance, analytics and audit readiness activities. Working with leaders, stakeholders and service providers, you'll identify risks, improve controls and help drive better business outcomes.

About You

You're an experienced assurance, audit, risk or controls professional who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing positive change. You combine strong analytical skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $133,348 base plus superannuation
