Job summary

Covetrus is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Northgate finance team on a 6‑month contract. The role reports to the Accounts Payable Manager within a large, global organisation.

You will handle end‑to‑end AP processes, reconcile invoices, and support month‑end activities while collaborating across Finance and Operations to deliver timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or finance administration.
• Familiarity with high‑volume invoice processing.
• Proficient with Excel and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process across multiple brands and business entities
• Processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims accurately and within agreed timeframes
• Performing invoice and statement reconciliations and proactively investigating discrepancies
• Responding to supplier and stakeholder enquiries while building strong and professional working relationships
• Preparing and processing creditor payment runs in line with business requirements
• Supporting month‑end activities, including accruals, reconciliations and reporting requirements
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval processes
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounts payable function
• Collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Support Office teams to ensure timely issue resolution
• Providing administrative and ad hoc support to the broader Finance team as required

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Finance Administration or similar role
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations and payment practices
• Excellent attention to detail with proven accuracy in high‑volume processing environments
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working across financial systems
• A collaborative and team‑focused mindset with a willingness to support others
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and accountability
• Experience using NetSuite or a similar ERP system will be highly regarded
