Goulburn Motor Group in Shepparton VIC is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable specialist to join our finance team on a part-time basis (maternity cover, up to 12 months, minimum 3 days per week). You will manage supplier payments, process invoices, and maintain accurate records, ensuring timely payments and strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounts payable or similar finance role.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with Docusmart is advantageous.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information.

Responsabilités

• Processing and coding invoices from suppliers in a timely and accurate manner
• Verifying invoice details against purchase orders and delivery documentation
• Managing supplier payments and reconciling accounts payable records
• Maintaining organised filing systems for all invoice documentation and payment records
• Resolving invoice discrepancies and liaising with suppliers regarding payment queries
• Preparing accounts payable reports and reconciliations as required
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Supporting the finance team with general administrative duties related to accounts payable

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Payable specialist to join our finance team at our Shepparton VIC location. This is a part-time position to cover for maternity leave upto 12 months which requires minimum 3 days a week that offers flexibility whilst maintaining the essential functions of our accounts payable operations. You will play a crucial role in managing our supplier payments, invoice processing, and financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. This role is fundamental to maintaining positive supplier relationships and upholding our financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role
• Experience Docusmart will be a added advantage
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational and attention to detail skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information professionally
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as part of a team
