Job summary

Optimum Consulting is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer for a permanent role in Brisbane CBD. The position offers a busy environment with 2 days per week remote work once settled.

You will manage end-to-end AP across multiple mine sites, handle invoices, match against POs and support month-end activities from a Brisbane-based head office. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in AP, mining or heavy industry exposure, high-volume processing, and strong ERP/Excel skills, plus proactive supplier

Responsibilities

• Full end to end AP across multiple mine sites and entities.
• Invoice processing, coding and 3 way matching against POs.
• Weekly payment runs and remittances.
• Supplier setup, maintenance and statement reconciliations.
• Handling queries from suppliers, site teams and contractors.
• Month end support including accruals and AP reconciliations.
• Helping the team through an entity transition and keeping the ledger clean.

Optimum Consulting is recruiting for a permanent Accounts Payable Officer role with an established coal mining company in the Brisbane CBD in a busy environment. This role is based in the CBD, with 2 days working from home per week once you’ve got the role mastered. This business mines metallurgical and thermal coal, with operations across several Queensland mine sites run from a Brisbane CBD head office. It’s a well established operator with a busy finance team who value people who can get in and get the job done.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Full end to end AP across multiple mine sites and entities
• Invoice processing, coding and 3 way matching against POs
• Weekly payment runs and remittances
• Supplier setup, maintenance and statement reconciliations
• Handling queries from suppliers, site teams and contractors
• Month end support including accruals and AP reconciliations
• Helping the team through an entity transition and keeping the ledger clean while it happens

What We’re Looking For

• Solid end to end AP experience, ideally 3+ years
• Mining, resources or heavy industry exposure. You know what a site invoice looks like and why the contractor is chasing payment
• High volume processing across multiple entities
• Strong ERP and Excel skills
• Accuracy under pressure, because the volume isn’t slowing down
• Comfortable picking up the phone to sort out a problem rather than letting it sit in your inbox
