Melbourne Pathology is seeking a full-time Accounts - Customer Service Representative to join the Accounts Receivable team in Melbourne. The role involves handling high volumes of calls, assisting patients with medical account enquiries, processing payments, and reconciling data with Medicare and other funds.

A detail-oriented, confidential approach and strong communication skills are essential for success. The position operates 8am–5pm, five days a week, in a busy pathology lab environment.

• Answer a high volume of calls from patients and stakeholders.
• Assist patients with Medical Account enquiries and payments.
• Process various payment types accurately and securely.
• Check data discrepancies with Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, and Private Funds.
• Investigate and follow up outstanding aged accounts.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional telephone manner.

Accounts - Customer Service Representative

Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

A vacancy exists for a full-time employee in our Accounts Receivable department, working 76 hours per fortnight. The position will require the incumbent to work 5 days per week, between the hours or 8am – 5pm.

Duties will include:

• - Answering a high volume of calls
• - Assisting patients with their Medical Account enquiries
• - Processing various payment types accurately
• - Checking data discrepancies with Medicare; DVA; WorkCover; Private Health Funds
• - Investigation and follow up outstanding aged accounts
• - Strong attention to detail

The successful applicant must have excellent attention to detail, a high level of customer service as well as professional telephone manner, communication skills, show good initiative, be enthusiastic to learn, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Confidentiality is extremely important in this role.

Previous experience in the health care industry or knowledge of the Medicare Rebate system would be highly advantageous.
