Job summary

The Breakthrough Office in Sydney is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Sydney team.

You will support financial reporting, budgeting and compliance, maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations and provide management reporting to optimise performance.

Require a bachelor degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and the ability to work independently within a professional team.

Qualifications

Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation

The Breakthrough Office is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join our Sydney team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial reporting, accounting, budgeting and compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities::

• Prepare financial statements, management accounts and periodic financial reports
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records
• Prepare and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
• Monitor revenue, expenditure and overall financial performance
• Prepare and assist with BAS, GST and other taxation-related reporting requirements
• Analyse financial information and provide reports and recommendations to management
• Review accounting processes and assist with maintaining appropriate internal financial controls
• Ensure financial records and reporting comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with management, external accountants, auditors and other relevant stakeholders as required

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a closely related field
• Relevant professional experience in an accounting role for minimum 2 years.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting and management reporting
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Competency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
