Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial accounts and taxation returns for individuals, companies, trusts and other entities.
• Assist with BAS, IAS and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Perform bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support month-end processes.
• Assist with bookkeeping and accounting tasks across a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an accounting professional who is looking to build their career within a supportive and professionally focused environment.

This role will suit an Accountant who enjoys working across multiple client matters and is keen to develop their technical accounting and taxation capabilities.

About the Role Working closely with experienced accountants and managers, you will be involved in a range of accounting and compliance activities, including:

• Preparing financial accounts and taxation returns for individuals, companies, trusts and other entities.
• Assisting with BAS, IAS and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Performing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting month-end processes.
• Assisting with bookkeeping and accounting tasks across a portfolio of clients.
• Preparing financial reports, schedules and supporting documentation.
• Communicating with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
• Assisting senior accountants and managers with client engagements and advisory work.
• Identifying discrepancies and assisting with the resolution of accounting issues.
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Keeping up to date with relevant accounting, taxation and compliance requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an accounting practice or commercial accounting environment.
• Understanding of Australian accounting and taxation principles.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills.

CPA or CA studies, or an interest in pursuing professional qualifications, will be highly regarded.
