Job summary

The Department of Customer Service in NSW invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Year 10 students entering Year 11 in 2027 to apply for a two-year School-Based Traineeship. You will work one day a week while continuing your studies at school and earn a wage.

During the traineeship you will complete a Certificate III in Business, gain real finance and administration experience, learn from mentors, and build professional connections.

Responsibilities

• Check and manage team emails and help respond to customer enquiries.
• Help keep customer account information up to date.
• Check records to make sure payments and account balances are accurate.
• Assist with answering questions from customers about their accounts.
• Support the team in following up outstanding payments from customers.
• Maintain accurate records and organise financial information.
• Use computer systems and software to enter and update information.
• Build skills and knowledge in finance, administration and customer service.
• Work as part of a team to help ensure accounts are managed efficiently.
