Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District invites Year 11 students to join a two-year Aboriginal School-Based Allied Health Traineeship. You will work one day per week (7 hours) in a district health facility while completing competency-based training toward your HSC.

You will earn a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or Health Services Pharmacy Support through a Registered Training Organisation while gaining practical experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Finished Year 10 and heading into Year 11 (2027).
• Interest in a future health career, especially Allied Health.
• Able to connect with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsibilities

• Work 1 day per week (7 hours) at a Hunter New England Health facility while completing training.
• Earn a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or Health Services Pharmacy Support through a registered training organisation while gaining hands-on experience.
• Learn from Allied Health professionals across multiple disciplines including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech pathology and more.
