Job summary

St Johns College Dubbo in Dubbo, NSW is hiring an Aboriginal Learning Support Officer. This temporary part-time role supports students in Years 7–12, assists with learning needs, and helps implement Personal Learning Plans under teacher direction.

The successful candidate will assist in remedial reading (MacqLit), manage data for NCCD, and collaborate with staff to ensure inclusive classrooms across primary and secondary levels.

Qualifications

• Hold or be working towards a Certificate III in School Based Education Support or a teaching degree.
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver effective learning outcomes.
• Experience with children with a range of needs.
• Positive attitude and collaborative nature.
• Experience in both Primary and secondary schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support for teachers and students with learning needs.
• Support and supervise students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom.
• Facilitate the MacqLit remedial reading program.
• Assist with data collection and maintenance for NCCD compliance.
• Undertake administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions.
• Input into planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
• Apply behaviour management strategies to maintain a supportive learning environment.
