Job summary

Catholic Education Office Diocese of Bathurst – Dubbo NSW is seeking an ATSI Learning Support Officer to assist students with learning needs, helping them participate fully in classroom activities and develop independence. You will work with teachers, support plans, and behavioural strategies to create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Hold or are working towards a Certificate III in School Based Education Support OR a NESA recognised Teaching degree
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check
• Demonstrated ability to deliver effective learning outcomes
• Experience working with children with a range of needs
• Positive attitude and collaborative nature
• Experience in both Primary and secondary schools

Responsibilities

• Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs
• Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment
• Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit)
• Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
• Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions
• Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
• Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to a supportive learning environment
