Job summary

Cumberland City Council is seeking an Aboriginal Engagement and Programs Officer to plan, deliver and monitor education programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Cumberland LGA. The role supports reconciliation initiatives and works across council sites to engage diverse audiences.

The successful candidate will have strong program management, communication and administration skills, and hold a current Working with Children Check and Class C Driver's Licence.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering education programs and engaging diverse audiences.
• Experience in community development or community engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Strong project management skills with planning, delivery and review capabilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor education programs to build understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Engage with communities and respond to identified needs and priorities.
• Manage projects, including budgeting, delivery and reporting.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor expenditure; liaise with stakeholders.
