Zusammenfassung

St Lawrence's Catholic Primary School, Coonabarabran, seeks an Aboriginal Education Officer on a temporary, part-time basis (60 hours per fortnight) to commence 3 February 2027 and finish 4 February 2028. This identified position is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.

You will report to the principal and the Education Officer: Leader of Aboriginal Education, supporting Aboriginal students, families, and staff, and promoting culturally inclusive learning across KLAs.

Qualifikationen

• Provide confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
• Commitment to Catholic Education values: social justice, equity and reconciliation.
• Strong literacy and numeracy support for students.
• Ability to work in a team to support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students.
• Experience working with families and communities in challenging situations.
• Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students.
• Links with the local Aboriginal community.
• Ability to promote Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultures within the school.
• Minimum 5 years of workplace experience.

Aufgaben

• Act as intermediary for Aboriginal students and families within the school.
• Assist teaching staff to meet targets in line with strategic plans for Aboriginal education.
• Support curriculum to be culturally inclusive across KLAs.
• Provide support for Aboriginal families to resolve pastoral care issues.
• Provide encouragement and emotional support for Aboriginal students.
