Job summary

We Help Ourselves (WHOS) provides AOD treatment programs in NSW and Queensland, with the Windsor site hosting a full-time Aboriginal AOD Worker. The role is open to Aboriginal identified applicants only and may consider part-time arrangements.

Working within a supportive team, you will help deliver culturally respectful, community-focused services, providing the Day Program’s range of services to clients in a culturally safe manner.

Qualifications

• Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a requirement for this position.
• Knowledge of AOD, mental health or related fields is desirable.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills and computer use.
• Knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approach is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide WHOS Day Program services to clients in a culturally safe and sensitive manner.
• Support Aboriginal people to remain connected with the service.
• Liaise with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal allied service providers.
• Deliver AOD information sessions and a range of AOD support services, assessment & referral, case work & group support.
