Job summary

Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service (ACMS) is recruiting an Aboriginal Health Worker – Alcohol & Other Drugs in Kempsey. You will deliver culturally appropriate AOD services, support nicotine replacement therapy, and collaborate with local health services.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy and experience with community programs, within a culturally respectful health setting.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent is identified for this position.
• Certificate IV – Drugs and Alcohol or willingness to undertake.
• Demonstrated experience with development of community programs.
• Sound knowledge of community health and Aboriginal health.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate alcohol and other drug services to Aboriginal clients in Kempsey.
• Deliver AOD and Nicotine Replacement Therapy programs, client support, education, case management and referrals.
• Collaborate with community and health services to support positive health outcomes.
• Plan and implement AOD programs and harm minimisation strategies.
