Job summary

WHOs Sydney – Windsor NSW seeks an Aboriginal AOD Worker to join the Hawkesbury Region Day Program on a full-time basis. You will deliver culturally safe, community-focused AOD services to clients and work within a supportive team.

Applicants must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and possess qualifications in AOD or related fields, with knowledge of harm reduction and strong written and verbal communication skills. Police clearance and salary packaging are available.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or undertaking study in AOD or related fields.
• Knowledge of AOD, mental health or related fields.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills and computer use.
• Knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approach.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal specific community services.

Responsibilities

• Provide the WHOS Day Program range of services to clients in a culturally safe manner.
• Deliver AOD information sessions in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Liaise with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal allied service providers.
• Provide a range of AOD support services, including assessment, referral, case work and group support.
