Job summary

Talent Supply in Sydney seeks a SolidWorks Drafter to turn simplified models into detailed, manufacturable drawings for steel fabrication. You will work from established concepts and specifications to produce drawings ready for workshop fabrication.

Your value is in the detail: detailing structural and welded steelwork, tanks and sumps, sheet metal components and fabricated equipment. A practical understanding of manufacturability and independence to work without constant supervision are

Qualifications

• Solid CAD experience.
• Strong SolidWorks capability.
• Experience detailing for steel fabrication or manufacturing.
• Practical understanding of manufacturability.
• Ability to work accurately without constant supervision.
• Experience across materials processing, mining equipment, water treatment or industrial manufacturing would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing designs for structural and welded steelwork.
• Create drawings for tanks and sumps.
• Develop sheet metal component drawings.
• Detail fabricated equipment used across industrial projects.
• Ensure drawings are clear for fabrication and assembly.

Can you take a simplified SolidWorks model and turn it into something a workshop can actually manufacture?

Something properly detailed, practical and ready to fabricate.

That is the job.

You will work from established concepts, engineering calculations and specifications to produce detailed manufacturing designs for:

• Structural and welded steelwork
• Tanks and sumps
• Sheet metal components
• Fabricated equipment used across industrial projects

This is not concept design or R&D and you will not be expected to invent the equipment or perform the engineering calculations.

Your value is in the detail.

Understanding how steel is cut, folded, welded and assembled, then producing drawings that make sense to the people building it.

What you will need

• Solid CAD experience
• Strong SolidWorks capability
• Experience detailing for steel fabrication or manufacturing
• A practical understanding of manufacturability
• The ability to work accurately without needing constant supervision

Experience across materials processing, mining equipment, water treatment or industrial manufacturing would be highly regarded.

Sheet metal experience would be a major advantage.
