Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company is seeking a Shift Supervisor in Chattanooga, TN to coordinate people, assets and practices for a 24/7 cotton seed processing facility. The role includes 12-hour rotating shifts, ensuring safety, production quality and regulatory compliance, and mentoring hourly staff.

Responsibilities include optimizing processes, supporting maintenance planning, and ensuring housekeeping and sanitation standards are met.

Qualifications

• Supervisory and proactive leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and experience handling conflict; motivating, instructing, and training others.
• Technical competence in mechanics, instrumentation, controls, calculations, and utility systems.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills - able to effectively manage time for efficient results.
• Able to utilize independent judgment to investigate and resolve issues.
• Experience in Cotton pulp or Oilseed manufacturing industry is added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and food safety regulations; implement improvements.
• Coordinate production area operations to meet product, environmental, safety and housekeeping guidelines.
• Mentor hourly personnel and enforce discipline when needed.
• Support production and maintenance planning and prioritize tasks.
• Oversee daily safety, environmental, quality, and production reports and reviews.
