oneZero Financial Systems is hiring an IT Operations Engineer for our Canberra office. The role focuses on delivering reliable infrastructure and exceptional user support through 24x7 monitoring, proactive management, and white-glove service in a high-availability financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT operations or similar role.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment under pressure.
• Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Hands-on with monitoring tools (Nagios, Datadog, PRTG).
• Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Active Directory, Office 365, and security tools experience.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production systems 24x7 for performance and availability.
• Assess incident severity and determine response actions.
• Respond to alerts with urgency and precise escalation.
• Perform root cause analysis and prevent recurrences.
• Coordinate with development during incidents.
• Document incident response procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Design and execute maintenance windows for servers and apps.
• Apply security patches and updates as needed.
• Manage backups and verify integrity.
• Provide onboarding/offboarding for end-user systems and production infra.
• Assist with software installations and license management.
