Qualifikationen

• Mehrere Jahre nachgewiesene Erfahrung in Produktdesign oder -entwicklung in der Uhrenindustrie.
• Fähigkeit, Uhrenentwürfe sowohl aus kreativer als auch technischer Perspektive zu bewerten.
• Gute Kenntnisse über aktuelle Markttrends und Kundenpräferenzen.

Aufgaben

• Forschung von Trends zur Identifizierung neuer Möglichkeiten für Holzkern-Kollektionen.
• Übersetzung von Trend-Einsichten in klare Produktentwicklungsvorgaben.

To further develop and expand our watch collections, we are looking for aProduct Developer Watches (f/m/d) with strong, hands‑on experience in the watch industry. This role is ideal for someone who understands how watches are built, knows what makes a design commercially successful, and can confidently manage the journey from first idea to final production.

In this position, your watch expertise will be essential. You will not only bring an eye for design and trends, but also a solid understanding of watch components, materials, movements, finishes, production processes and supplier collaboration. You know how to turn creative ideas into technically feasible, high‑quality products — and how to balance aesthetics, functionality, cost and timelines along the way.

As part of our product team, you will help shape future Holzkern collections and ensure that each new watch reflects our brand’s essence: natural beauty, authenticity and lasting value.

Your areas of responsibility

• Research trends to identify new opportunities for Holzkern collections and translate into compelling business cases
• Translate trend insights into clear product development briefs that align with our brand identity for both male and female designs
• Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners, ensuring smooth collaboration
• Facilitate effective internal communication and become a trusted partner for all product related questions
• Oversee the development process from concept to finished product, balancing creativity, feasibility and cost efficiency
• Monitor product quality and resolve any challenges during sampling and production
• Keep track of all product specifications, costings and timelines, ensuring deadlines are met

Your profile

• Several years of proven experience in product design, product development, product management or production within the watch industry
• Strong technical understanding of watches, including components, movements, case construction, straps, materials, finishes and production methods
• Experience working directly with watch suppliers, manufacturers and production partners
• Ability to assess watch designs from both a creative and technical perspective
• Good understanding of current watch market trends, customer preferences and competitive positioning
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several products, timelines and stakeholders at the same time
• Confident in evaluating samples, giving precise product feedback and solving development challenges
• A sharp eye for detail, proportions, materials, design quality and commercial potential
• Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
• Self‑motivated, reliable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment
• A degree in Business, Product Design, Industrial Design, Marketing or a related field is an advantage
