Job summary

Global Hydro Energy GmbH is seeking a driven electrical engineer to develop concepts for control, automation and power systems in hydropower projects. You will prepare technically sound and commercially viable proposals and work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Production teams.

Qualifications

• Completed technical education (HTL, University of Applied Sciences, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Passionate about energy and plant engineering; open to graduates or with at least 3 years in electrical design, project engineering, proposal management, or technical sales.
• Experience in electrical design and reading/creating schematics is an advantage.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Good German and English language skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% internationally and domestically.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including tendering and cost calculations.
• Develop electrical engineering concepts for control, automation, and power systems.
• Analyze existing plants and design modernization/refurbishment solutions.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Project Management on inquiries and changes.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Create electrical designs and documentation using EPLAN.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams.

Your Tasks - What to expect

• Preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including tender processing and cost calculation
• Development of electrical engineering concepts for control, automation, and power systems in the hydropower sector
• Analysis of existing plants and development of modernization and refurbishment solutions
• Technical support for Sales and Project Management regarding customer inquiries, change orders, and additional proposals
• Evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Electrical engineering design and documentation using EPLAN
• Close collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams

Your Profile - What you bring

• Completed technical education (HTL, University of Applied Sciences, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• You are passionate about energy and plant engineering and are either looking to start your career in exciting projects as a graduate or bring at least 3 years of professional experiencee in electrical engineering design, project engineering, proposal management, or technical sales
• Experience in electrical design as well as reading and creating electrical schematics and system diagrams is an advantage
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Good German and English language skills
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% internationally and domestically

For this position, we offer a gross monthly salary starting at EUR 3,000 (full-time) for recent graduates and EUR 3,300 for experienced professionals. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, a higher salary is possible.
