Job summary

Andritz AG in Weiz sucht einen Senior Expert für elektromagnetische Berechnungen von Einzelphasemaschinen im Hydropower-Bereich. Sie arbeiten in der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung und bringen langjährige Erfahrung in FEM/Analytik ein.

Sie planen Messkampagnen, validieren Modelle und arbeiten eng mit Software, Engineering und Validierungsteams zusammen, um Standards und Methoden weiterzuentwickeln. Deutsch/Englisch beherrschen Sie sicher.

Qualifications

• Master- oder PhD-Abschluss in Elektroingenieurwesen oder verwandtem Fachgebiet.
• Umfangreiche Senior-Erfahrung in Berechnung, Design und Entwicklung rotierender elektrischer Maschinen.
• Kenntnisse in Elektromagnetik, magnetischen Kreisen und nichtlinearen elektromagnetischen Effekten.
• Fundierte Expertise in Verlustmechanismen und elektromagnetischen Wechselwirkungen.
• Erfahrung mit elektromagnetischen FEM-Simulationen (2D/3D).
• Praxis mit analytischen Berechnungsmethoden und Simulationswerkzeugen.
• Erfahrung im Design und in der Simulation von Einzelphasen-Maschinen von Vorteil.
• Erfahrung im Bereich rotierender elektrischer Maschinen ist Pflicht.
• Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse schriftlich und mündlich.
• Gelegentliche Reisetätigkeit ca. 5% der Arbeitszeit.

Responsibilities

• Weiterentwicklung vorhandener elektromagnetischer Berechnungsmethoden für Einzelphasen-Mrotoren (analytisch und FEM).
• Übertragung von Berechnungsmethoden in GEMINI-Plattform.
• Validierung analytischer Methoden durch FEM-Simulationen und Messungen.
• Eigenständige Planung und Unterstützung von Messkampagnen zur Validierung.
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Softwareentwicklung, Ingenieurs-Teams und Validierungsexperten.
• Festlegung und Pflege von Standards, Best Practices und Berechnungsleitlinien.
• Unterstützung komplexer technischer Untersuchungen und Expertenberatung zu EM-Design.

We are currently seeking a Senior Expert Electromagnetic Calculation for Single-Phase Machines (m/f/d) in the field of hydropower at our location in Weiz in the research and development department.

YOUR PROFILE

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
• Extensive senior-level experience in the calculation, design, and development of rotating electrical machines
• Knowledge of electromagnetics, magnetic circuits, and nonlinear electromagnetic effects
• Strong expertise in loss mechanisms and electromagnetic interactions
• Extensive experience in electromagnetic finite element method (FEM) simulations in 2D and 3D
• Hands-on experience with analytical calculation methods and electromagnetic simulation tools
• Experience in the design and simulation of single-phase machines is an advantage
• Experience in the field of rotating electrical machines is mandatory
• Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation software such as Vector Fields Opera, ANSYS Maxwell, Altair Flux, or equivalent tools
• Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 5% of working time)

YOUR TASKS

• Enhancement of existing electromagnetic calculation methods for single-phase rotating electrical machines (analytical and FEM)
• Transfer and implement calculation methods into our web-based design and calculation platform GEMINI
• Validate analytical calculation methods through FEM simulations and experimental measurements
• Independently define, plan and support measurement campaigns for method validation and model calibration
• Collaborate closely with software development, engineering teams, and measurement and validation experts
• Define and maintain methodological standards, best practices and calculation guidelines for engineering teams
• Support complex technical investigations and provide expert guidance on electromagnetic design and simulation topics of single-phase synchronous machines

OUR OFFER

We are legally obliged to state the collective bargaining minimum salary for this position, which is gross € 4.645,81 per month. However, we offer a market-based salary depending on qualifications and professional experience in any case.
