Zusammenfassung

Ärztekasse Genossenschaft is renewing its data center and seeks a skilled platform engineer to design, implement and operate our server infrastructure in a modern virtual environment.

You will join a small agile Platform team in the Geneva area (Thônex) or Zurich area (Urdorf), collaborating on automation, security, patching, and on-call rotation to ensure high availability.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in system/server engineering or administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration; Linux (RedHat) is a plus.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and datacenter operations.
• Scripting and automation skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus.
• Knowledge of security best practices and patch management.
• Strong communication skills in English; German and French are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Install, configure and maintain virtual machines and server systems (Windows and Linux).
• Ensure availability, performance and security of the server landscape in the datacenter.
• Perform patch management, hardening and lifecycle management of servers.
• Automate server provisioning and configuration via infrastructure as code.
• Migrate unmanaged VMs to IaaS-provider managed VMs.
• Monitor systems and resolve incidents to minimize downtime.
• Part of the Platform team; participate in future on-call rotation.
• Collaborate in small agile teams with impact and influence.

Ärztekasse is renewing its entire datacenter and the products affected by this transformation. To support this digitalization step, we are looking for smart and experienced engineers to contribute and shape clever and creative solutions for a meaningful industry.

Pensum: 80-100%

Main Tasks

• Install, configure and maintain virtual machines and server systems (Windows and support Linux/RedHat)
• Ensure availability, performance and security of the server landscape in our virtual datacenter
• Perform patch management, hardening and lifecycle management of server systems
• Automate server provisioning and configuration through infrastructure as code
• Drive the migration from unmanaged VMs to IaaS-provider-managed VMs
• Monitor systems and resolve incidents to minimize downtime
• This role is part of the Platform team
• Participate in future on-call rotation
