BD in Vienna is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of cloud-based medical products supporting our infusion pump portfolio.

Join a multi-functional engineering team building on our BD Cloud Platform, using C#/.NET, React/TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. You will provide technical leadership across product architectures, mentor engineers, and help deliver reliable, maintainable software while balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability.

Formación

• 10+ years of software engineering with leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience owning architecture from requirements to verification.
• Strong fundamentals and language-agnostic programming understanding.
• Practical experience with cloud applications, APIs, service integration, containerized software, Git.
• Understanding of SOA and monolithic architectures and tradeoffs.
• Turn ambiguous problems into clear technical direction.
• Mentor engineers, coordinate across teams and align decisions by influence.
• Strong unit testing, automated verification, code review and maintainable design.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated solutions and maintain accountability.
• Clear communication and ownership of technical outcomes.

Responsabilidades

• Offer technical mentorship and establish direction across teams.
• Own product-level architecture within platform constraints and gain approvals.
• Translate ambiguous needs into actionable technical approaches.
• Guide extending existing apps and reusing capabilities across products.
• Coordinate work across teams, resolve integration challenges and align interfaces.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead design/code reviews.
• Contribute hands-on where impactful, including prototypes and critical implementations.
• Partner with Quality Engineers on testability and verification approaches.
• Use AI-assisted tools with accountability and sound judgment.
• Apply Quality Management System and lifecycle documentation to planning and design.
• Communicate recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
