Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) seeks software engineers to help develop cloud-based medical products for infusion pump portfolio. You’ll join a multi-functional team building applications on the BD Cloud Platform, with possible work on drug library software, pump management, or pump connectivity.

Open to frontend, backend, or full-stack engineers; contribute across layers and broaden technical skills while delivering value to users in hospitals and at home.

Qualifications

• Foundational software development experience through professional work.
• Working knowledge of a modern programming language (C#, Java, Go, or TypeScript).
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Docker containers, and service-oriented vs monolithic architectures.
• Ability to break down engineering problems and verify results against requirements.
• Understanding of automated testing, code review, and maintainable design.
• Ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools effectively and critically evaluating output.
• Ownership of assigned work with proactive communication.
• Willingness to contribute beyond frontend or backend specialization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain features across cloud applications with tests.
• Own well-scoped user stories from requirements to verification.
• Clarify acceptance criteria and collaborate on testing strategies.
• Contribute across frontend, backend, and service integration work.
• Make decisions considering correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Use AI-assisted tools with accountability for outcomes.
• Participate in code reviews and resolve defects with evidence.
• Work with containerized apps and Kubernetes configurations.
• Adhere to medical-product software quality requirements and lifecycle.
