Job summary

EBNER Industrieofenbau GmbH is seeking a Simulation Engineer (CFD) to design and simulate fluid flow and thermal processes in industrial systems. You will drive turbomachinery-related CFD work and validate results with experiments in collaboration with multiple departments.

You hold a technical degree and have hands-on CFD experience with ANSYS Fluent/CFX, COMSOL, or OpenFOAM, plus CAD experience in NX. German and English skills are essential for cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Higher technical education in mechanical engineering, fluid mechanics, or energy engineering.
• Experience with CFD simulations of industrial plants and thermal systems.
• Knowledge of CFD tools: ANSYS Fluent/CFX, COMSOL; OpenFOAM is a plus.
• Strong understanding of turbomachinery physics (fans, impellers, blowers).
• Experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or equivalent).
• German and English proficiency.

Job description

To strengthen our R&D team, we are currently seeking a Simulation Engineer for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (m/f/d). In this position, you will be responsible for the fluid dynamics design, simulation, and innovative development of industrial flow and process systems, as well as for the simulation of thermal processes. Part of your responsibilities will also include industrial turbomachinery engineering, particularly the simulation and optimization of rotors, impellers, fans, and blowers.

TASKS

• Conducting CFD simulations for thermal process systems with a focus on industrial turbomachinery, fans, impellers, blowers, and process gas recirculation systems.
• Planning and conducting experiments to validate and verify CFD simulations and numerical models.
• Providing numerical support for product development and independently carrying out development projects in the areas of fluid flow, heat transfer, and industrial turbomachinery.
• Working closely with other departments (Design, Manufacturing, Commissioning, etc.) as well as with members of the EBNER Group.
• Further developing simulation methods, CFD tools, calculation processes, and technical standards in the fields of fluid mechanics and thermal process plants.

PROFILE

• Completed higher technical education (university/university of applied sciences) with a focus on mechanical engineering, fluid mechanics, energy engineering, or a comparable field.
• Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of industrial plants and thermal process systems.
• In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Fluent, CFX, COMSOL, or comparable CFD tools.
• Very good understanding of the physics of industrial turbomachinery (fans, impellers, blowers) as well as relevant simulation methods.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX or equivalent).
• Knowledge of OpenFOAM is a plus.
• Good command of German and English
