Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Software Test Engineer to drive automation, improve test processes, and ensure top-tier software quality for our measurement technology software.

You will conduct testing, develop automated tests, and create test artifacts while collaborating with developers and product managers to guarantee quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Completed education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in manual and automated software testing, ISTQB optional.
• Knowledge of test automation tools Selenium, JUnit, TestNG.
• Experience with agile development methods Scrum and Kanban.
• Basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, C#).
• Analytical mindset and strong quality orientation.
• Good German and English language skills.

Job Description

• Conduct software testing for our measurement device software
• Develop and maintain automated test cases
• Create various test artifacts such as test specifications, test plans, and test reports
• Collaborate with software developers and product managers to ensure quality assurance
• Analyze and track defects and support their resolution
• Optimize existing test processes and methodologies

Qualifications

• Completed education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Experience in manual and automated software testing, ideally with ISTQB certification (optional)
• Knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)
• Experience with agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban)
• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, Java, C#) and a fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Analytical mindset, structured working approach, and strong quality orientation
• Good German and English language skills

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 3.500 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring.
