Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer (f/m/x) for a global product development role with an expat opportunity. You will design and verify electronic circuits, develop PCB testing concepts, and support production transfers across international teams.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, hands-on lab experience, and strong teamwork in a multinational environment. A long-term international assignment is possible after onboarding in Graz.

• Full-time
• Compensation: from EUR 3,500 - monthly

Take an active role in shaping the future of advanced measurement technology. In this key position, you will develop cutting‑edge electronic solutions and support products throughout their entire lifecycle, from the initial concept to successful series production. Working closely with international teams, you will drive technological innovation and contribute your expertise in a global environment.

• Develop and coordinate innovative electronic concepts in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Design, specify, and develop electronic circuits and create schematics
• Develop and implement PCB testing concepts in coordination with manufacturing
• Perform technical reviews and approvals of PCB designs together with the layout team
• Conduct verification and functional testing of electronic circuits and assemblies
• Support the transfer of new products into series production, including system‑level and EMC testing
• Actively contribute to the entire product development process, from concept development to market launch, working closely with international locations, software development, mechanical design, manufacturing, and product management teams

• Willingness to undertake a long‑term international assignment (1 to 3 years) at one of our subsidiaries in Germany, Switzerland, or the United States following an initial onboarding and training period of one to two years in Graz
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field
• Strong expertise in circuit design and verification of electronic circuits, ideally with knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory requirements (EMC, CE, UL)
• Hands‑on laboratory and workshop experience, particularly in measurement technology and/or soldering.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a passion for collaborating in international environments
• High level of quality awareness, strong analytical thinking, and a structured, solution‑oriented working style

We offer a fair and market‑aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 3,500 (based on full‑time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring.
